Jakovich was born in a little Jewish community outside the city of Kiev, Ukraine. His family roamed around Ukraine and Russia for much of his early childhood, where Jakovich first learned guitar from his father and then more extensively from the gypsy bands that were in the same traveling camps. He left Eastern Europe to work in a horse-drawn gypsy caravan circus show which eventually landed him in the south of France, where he filled in with bands at local bars, eventually gaining tour experience with bands including French folk sensation BandàpArt. In 2012, he took a job on a French-Caribbean cruise line as the resident guitar player and eventually formed QUEL BORDEL! within the year.
